Transflo Completes Electronic Logging Device Registration with FMCSA
Company also unveils new certified ELD database for carriers and brokers
TAMPA, Fla., October 23, 2017 – Transflo, a leader in enterprise mobility, telematics, and business process automation for the transportation industry, today announced that its next-generation electronic logging device (ELD) is now listed as a registered solution with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).
An advanced solution addressing fleet management and electronic logging compliance, Transflo Telematics features a powerful ELD unit, on-demand management and reporting software, and a mobile application for commercial drivers. Unlike Bluetooth-reliant units, cellular capabilities imbedded in the Transflo ELD T7 continuously record and send data, simplifying the process and saving time.
The company also unveiled a new Transflo ELD database for fleets and brokers. Fleets wishing to share that they are ELD-compliant provide the appropriate information, allowing brokers to verify that the carriers they want do business with are using FMCSA-registered devices. Clients already using Transflo Telematics have the ability to auto register as a compliant carrier. The new ELD database is expected to be available in December.
“It is amazing to see how our software suite has evolved and how mobile technology has transformed trucking,” stated Frank Adelman, Transflo President and Chief Executive Officer. “We have focused on great technology, available supply, and industry compliance. And that’s exactly what our teams at Transflo continue to deliver.”
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s final rule addressing electronic logging devices and hours of service aims to improve vehicle safety and regulatory compliance while reducing the burden and inefficiency caused by paperwork. The compliance phase of this rule begins on December 18, 2017.
Fleets and independent owner-operators needing to comply with these new regulations by moving from paper logs to electronic logs can use Transflo’s ELD for a quick, convenient transition. Additionally, fleets needing to upgrade outdated telematics equipment, which will not be compliant in future phases, will find Transflo’s solution both flexible and affordable compared with previous options.
The company’s FMCSA registration and ELD database announcement coincides with the American Trucking Associations 2017 Management Conference and Exhibition (MCE) in Orlando, Florida. Transflo executives attending the conference are showing how the company’s mobile-based telematics software is at the forefront of new “mobilematics” solutions.
