Pegasus TransTech Enters Telematics Market with NextGen Solution
Partnership with Geotab Delivers Affordable, Superior Fleet Management
TAMPA, Florida, September 29, 2016 – Pegasus TransTech, the leader in enterprise mobility and business process automation for the transportation industry, today unveiled Transflo Telematics, a next-generation (NextGen) fleet management and electronic logging solution.
The new Transflo offering includes data and telematics software for fleet managers, an advanced electronic logging device (ELD) that installs in the vehicle, and a mobile application from which drivers manage electronic logs and all other workday activities. The fully integrated solution includes affordable functionality that is competitive with traditional, high-end in-cab telematics systems.
“Because telematics is another form of mobility, entering the telematics market is a natural extension of the Transflo suite,” shared Frank Adelman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Pegasus TransTech. “By converging mobile and telematics into one platform, we’ve created a host of new possibilities for fleet managers and professional drivers.”
Transflo Telematics is developed in partnership with Geotab, a global leader in GPS vehicle tracking devices and fleet management software. The two companies integrated their open platforms to deliver the best of telematics and the best of mobile in one solution. Pegasus TransTech represents Geotab’s products in the truckload market as an Authorized Geotab Reseller.
“With our plug-and-play device, fleet managers can easily implement, and rely on our accurate, Open Platform fleet management solution to increase productivity and cut costs,” stated Neil Cawse, Chief Executive Officer of Geotab. “We’re excited to partner with an industry leader like Transflo, who has an extensive footprint in the truckload market and across the transportation industry. Together, we’re delivering the next generation of telematics.”
Carriers participating in the Transflo mobile advisory group worked with the company to address the longstanding telematics challenges they face. Client trials began in July, and the number of trucks represented in the fleets who have either placed orders or are piloting the new offering is already approaching 10,000.
NextGen Telematics Solution
Transflo Telematics features three components – Transflo Telematics portal, Transflo T7 ELD, and Transflo Mobile platform – in one solution that enables commercial carriers and professional drivers to comply with electronic logging regulation. Drivers conveniently access electronic logs and everything else they need to manage their day while fleet managers access data and reporting about drivers, vehicles, and fleets. It’s everything carriers and drivers need, at their fingertips.
Transflo Telematics portal
- Real-time GPS truck tracking, fuel consumption monitoring, and route analysis
- Ultra-accurate vehicle diagnostics with visibility into engine faults, driver behavior, and other engine-derived information
- Accident detection, notification, and reconstruction
Transflo T7 ELD
- Lifetime warranty, easy installation (less than 10 minutes), compact (less than 3 inches)
- Second-by-second recording, capturing advanced engine data
- Cellular capability coupled with highly sensitive GPS and accelerometer data
Transflo Mobile
- Hours of Service (HOS) display with driver vehicle inspection report (DVIR)

Telematics Market Opportunity
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) indicates that the ELD rule will affect approximately 3 million trucks, which will be required to electronically record a driver’s hours of service information starting in December 2017.
According to the Department of Transportation (DOT), about 97% of active, DOT-registered motor carriers operate fewer than 20 trucks. Industry studies show ELD adoption is significantly slower for motor carriers with smaller fleets.
